The pollen of flowers glue themselves to the fleece of the visiting bee. Formed into grains and brought back to the hive, they are the source of protein for the bee larvae. By putting a metal mesh at the entrance of the hive, a part of the pollen is stripped off.
Of sweetish and floury taste, pollen can be eaten on its own or together with yoghurt, musli, salads etc. Avoid heating it. Pollen offer all the 26 amino acids the human body assimilates easily. Thus pollen is often consumed by vegetarians. It helps to normalise digestion and strengthens the immunity system.
Our pollen come in jars of 500g and 250g.
